Canal Winchester OH Accident: 2 Men Hospitalized After Car-Truck Collision

Canal Winchester, OH—A head-on collision in Canal Winchester Tuesday morning, November 9, 2010, landed two men in the hospital. The injurious motor vehicle accident occurred on Gender Road, otherwise known as State Route 674, according to information provided by NBC4i.

Reports indicated a northbound vehicle was traveling along Gender Road, or S.R. 674, when it failed to pass another vehicle successfully. The northbound car consequently slammed into a southbound pickup truck, just north of U.S. Route 33.

Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel were dispatched to the scene to aid those injured in the two-vehicle wreck. An unidentified man, believed to be in his 20s, was rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. His condition was upgraded upon his arrival at the hospital.

Another male, whose name and age were withheld, suffered injuries and was transported to Mount Carmel East Medical Center in stable condition. Reports did not specify the extent of either victims’ injuries.

After the 6:53 a.m. car-truck crash, authorities closed a section of Gender Road pending preliminary accident investigations and clean up. The road was reopened around 8:15 a.m.

It was not stated whether alcohol and/or drugs were suspected factors in the head-on crash. Nonetheless, a full probe was expected to be underway.
