Las Vegas, NV—One person is dead after a rollover accident in the northwest valley desert area on Oct 28. Eight teenagers were inside the SUV when it crashed, as reported by 8 News Now.

“They saw the vehicle tumble, and they saw the lights flashing all over the place. When they went out there, there were several occupants of the vehicles that were all over the area,” reported Metro Police Sgt. Richard Strader, who recalled the eyewitness accounts.

Responding emergency crews rushed to the scene, where they found bodies strewn across the desert, along with containers of alcohol, and beer.

Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said, “There were people that were thrown from the vehicles. We have one fatality, three critical and four moderate injuries. All of them were transported to UMC Trauma Unit.”

Police officials have cited “careless and reckless behavior,” speed, and alcohol as factors in the wreck. Officials found several cases or containers of alcohol and beer at the scene.

It is believed that most of the victims attended Arbor View High School.

Investigations are underway.
