New York, NY—A head-on collision, involving a car and an ambulance, in Valley Stream was the result of a fleeing motorist who was just involved in another accident. The head-on collision occurred just before 7 p.m., on Franklin Avenue, as reported by NBC New York.

Nassau County Police reported that the driver of the car, identified as William Buffalin of Valley Stream, was initially involved in an accident on Corona Avenue and fled the scene. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Franklin Avenue and it collided head-on with a northbound ambulance, which was transporting a patient.

No one suffered any serious injuries in the wreck, but responding emergency crews transported everyone to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police arrested Buffalin following the accident and charged him with assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving while impaired, and marijuana possession. He is set to arraigned on Friday. It is unknown if he is represented by an attorney.

A full investigation into the two accidents are currently underway.
