Albany, NY—A motorcycle accident in Saratoga Springs left a 20-year-old man seriously hurt with potentially life-threatening injures on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The accident occurred around 4:25 p.m., near the entrance to Kohl’s department store on Weibel Avenue, as reported by The Saratogian.

Police officials reported that William Varley was driving his green-and-black Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Weibel Avenue, when he slammed head-on into a Dodge Dakota, who was stopped and waiting to make a left turn into the Hannaford complex.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Robert Dougal, 58, of Schuylerville.

Varley was transported by Saratoga Springs Emergency Corps to the Saratoga Ice Rink property where he was met with a Life Net of New York helicopter to continue transporting the biker to Albany Medical Center. Officials described Varley’s injured as potentially life-threatening.

A full investigation into the wreck is underway. Potential charges are pending.
