Elmira NY Motorcycle Accident: Biker Injured During Benefit Motorcycle Ride

Elmira, NY– A motorcycle accident, involving two motorcycles, left a Towanda man injured on Sunday, October 10, 2010. The accident occurred at 12:30 p.m., on eastbound state Route 223 in the Town of Erin, as reported by The Daily Review.

Police officials reported two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on state Route 223 when the bikers sideswiped each other.

The impact of the crash caused one of the motorcyclists to veer into a ditch along the north side of the road, while the other biker remained unharmed.

Responding emergency crews rushed the injured biker by ambulance to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, where he is listed in fair condition.

Other bikers riding with the victim identified him as Ron Hunt.

There was a reported 14 people riding on the motorcycle trip when the accident occurred. The motorcycle ride was to raise money for the Stray Haven animal shelter.

A full investigation is underway.
