Glens Falls, NY– A head-on collision left one person dead and another in critical condition on Monday, October 4, 2010. The fatal crash occurred on state Route 196 about one-half mile east of the intersection of county Route 42, as reported by the Saratogian.

Washington County Coroner Edward Parsons pronounced the driver of a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, William Ferguson Jr., 58, of Granville dead at the scene. Ferguson was declared dead at approximately 5 p.m.

The driver of the other vehicle, Kenneth Palmer Jr., of Hartford, who was driving a 1994 Saturn was injured in the wreck. He was rushed by ambulance to Glens Falls Hospital with “extensive injuries.”

Officials are still trying to determine what caused the wreck and who was at fault.

Palmer’s Saturn was found in the ditch along side the road, while Ferguson’s truck was found in the roadway by responding emergency crews.

The investigation is ongoing.
