Tempe, AZ—An up-and-coming Valley DJ and singer was tragically killed in a three-vehicle crash near Arizona State University. The fatal crash occurred on Saturday, September 11, 2010 near Rural Road and University Drive, as reported by AZ Family.

Tempe police reported that a SUV was pulling out of the Quadrangles apartments, whena 17-year-old female driver slammed into an eastbound car on University Drive. A motorcycle then came along, about a minute after the crash, and slammed into the two wrecked vehicles.

The teenage motorcyclist, 19-year-old Matthew West of Glendale, and the passenger of the car were tragically killed in the crash.

Police officials say the driver of the SUV was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver is currently being investigated for DUI.

The deceased passenger of the car was identified as Abay Lattin, a member of the Silver Medallion group. Lattin is an up-and-coming DJ and singer, who just began a nationwide tour called “The Stars Have Been Waiting.”

A full investigation is underway.
