Kansas City Injury: Arkansas Man Electrocuted, Killed at Lakeside Speedway

Kansas City, KS—A man was electrocuted at the Lakeside Speedway on Saturday night, August 21, 2010, after the man came into contact with an unknown electrical source. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m., where he was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by NBC Action News.

According to officials, Dennis “Mike” Bowles, 55, of Knoxville, Arkansas came to Kansas City with his family to watch his brother race at the speedway.

Bowles was reportedly walking between two trailers when he came into contact with an electrical source. When responding emergency crews arrived at the scene they pronounced him dead.

Officials have yet to confirm how Bowles was electrocuted. A full investigation into the electrocution is currently underway by authorities.
