Santa Rosa, CA—A two-vehicle collision killed an electric motorcycle entrepreneur on Monday, August 30, 3010 in Santa Rosa. The crash occurred just before 10:40 a.m., in the intersection of West Steele Lane and range Avenue, as reported by North Bay News.

Electric motorcycle entrepreneur Matthew Dieckmann, 29, was traveling east on Steele Lane, as 71-year-old Gilbert Dorame, of Santa Rosa was traveling west on Steele Lane in his Prius.

Dorame apparently tried to make a left turn onto Range Avenue from Steele Lane when Dorame crossed over into the path of Dieckmann’s special-construction motorcycle. Dieckmann subsequently slammed into the side of the Prius.

Dieckmann was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical crews.

Officials say the traffic light at the intersection appeared to have been operating properly at the time of the crash.

A full investigation into the accident is underway. Speed nor alcohol doesn’t appear to have been factors in the wreck.
