Ocoee, FL—A pregnant driver required medical attention after she became involved in a motor vehicle collision (MVC), in which the impact caused her vehicle to overturn Thursday, June 8, 2010. The SUV rollover accident occurred on West Colonial Drive, located between Montgomery Street and South Clarke Road, according to information provided by ClickOrlando.com.

Reports indicated Carolyn Dewalden was driving to work when a car violently rear-ended her sport utility vehicle. The accident occurred as both vehicles attempted to turn into the same parking lot. Dewalden’s vehicle consequently flipped over.

Dewalden, who is seven months pregnant, was left dangling upside down until emergency medical services (EMS) crews arrived to extricate her from her damaged SUV. Luckily, she was properly restrained at the time of the wreck.

The pregnant driver was transported to Orlando-based Winnie Palmer Hospital for treatment. Dewalden was apparently listed in stable condition after the accident, and she and her unborn baby were expected to be fine.

Dewalden, who is a physician’s assistant at an OB/GYN office, is expecting her first child. Reports did not indicate if any others suffered injury or if any charges were filed in connection with the two-vehicle crash. Investigations continue.
