Orlando, FL—An accidental shooting at the Florida Gun Show injured three men who were hit by a ricocheted bullet. The incident occurred at 1:39 p.m. at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, as reported by Click Orlando.

An Orlando police report stated a man pulled the trigger of a loaded gun while pointing it at the concrete floor, which caused the bullet to ricochet.

An off-duty officer who was enjoying the gun show rushed to the scene and found two bleeding men identified as Mark Morrison, 59, and Robert Earle, 57. A third man, Jack Jenkins, 70, “spontaneously stated that he pulled the trigger, discharging a firearm.”

Jenkins is reportedly a vendor at the show, and the two bleeding men were a part of his group. All three of the men had vendor passes, which confirmed that they were apart of the gun show.

Jenkins was apparently looking at the Colt .45 semi-automatic handgun when he noticed the hammer was cocked back. Jenkins then pointed the muzzle of the gun at the floor and pulled the trigger without looking to see if they gun was loaded. The bullet discharged and struck the concrete floor, causing concrete fragments to fly into the air, cutting Morrison and Earle.

Morrison was rushed by ambulance to Florida Hospital Orlando for treatment of lacerations to the top of his left foot. Earle sustained lacerations to his left shin and was taken by ambulance to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. Both of the men’s injuries were considered to be non-life threatening.

Police have not charged anyone in this incident.
