Fort Myers, FL (News)—A head-on collision in south Fort Myers resulted in the hospitalization of two people, who were seriously injured. At 6:53 a.m., Tuesday morning, June 10, 2010, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) was called to the scene of the injurious wreck, as reported by The News-Press.

Roxanne Jane Nartowicz, 29, was reportedly traveling eastbound on Danley Drive, when she suddenly veered into the westbound lane of traffic. Upon doing so, Nartowicz’s Suzuki Sedan slammed head-on into an oncoming Ford F350. The impact of the crash pushed the truck off the shoulder of Danley Drive.

Responding emergency medical crews rushed Nartowicz and the driver of the Ford, Jairo Benavidez, 28, to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of their serious injuries.

A passenger in the truck, Juan Mendoza, 39, was also transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The FHP says they do not believe alcohol was a factor, although they are unsure what caused Nartowicz to cross the centerline. A full investigation is currently underway.
