Porterville, CA—A two-vehicle collision between a semi-truck and a car injured four people, one critically, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. The motor vehicle accident occurred around 11:35 a.m., on Road 256, as reported by the Visalia Times-Delta.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a 1993 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was hauling two trailers when it rear-ended a 2007 Toyota, causing both vehicles to overturn. The Toyota was reportedly preparing to make a right turn onto Avenue 88, when the semi slammed into their vehicle. Both vehicles came to a rest in an open field.

The collision injured three women who were riding in the car, who were identified as the driver Rosalinda Preciado, 56, of Hanford; and passengers L. Ellis, 46, of Porterville and C. Alvarez, 54, of Visalia. They all reportedly sustained minor injuries in the wreck. Preciado and Alvarez were transported to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville. Ellis was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

David Crouse, the driver of the semi, was critically injured and transported by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

The CHP is conducting a full investigation into the two-vehicle collision.
