Sacramento Fatal Truck Crash: Pickup truck head-on wreck killed 1, injured 2

Sacramento, CA—A two-car crash in Rancho Cordova killed one man and injured two others when two pickup trucks collided head-on. The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday night, June 23, 2010 at 7:46 p.m., on Sunrise Boulevard, just south of Kiefer Boulevard, as reported by KCRA.

The Sacramento County Sherriff’s Office reported a white full-size Ford pickup truck was traveling southbound on Sunrise Boulevard, when it veered over the center median. The white truck then collided head-on with a red full-size Ford pickup truck, which was headed northbound on Sunrise Boulevard.

The collision killed the driver of the white truck, who was identified as a man in his 60s. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical teams.

The driver of the red truck, identified as a 20-year-old man, and a passenger, a 50-year-old woman, were both injured in the crash. They both reportedly suffered major injuries, and were rushed to local hospitals in critical condition.

The cause of the wreck is currently unknown. The RCPD Major Investigation Team is investigating the fatal crash.
