Richmond KY Truck Wreck: Car vs. pickup crash leaves 3 dead, 4 injured

Richmond, KY—A motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving a pickup truck and car resulted in three casualties, one of whom was a child. The deadly truck-car crash occurred on Thursday, June 3, 2010, in close proximity to the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Madison County, according to information provided by Kentucky.com.

Reports indicated a Chevrolet pickup truck and Toyota Solara became involved in a fatal wreck along Irvine Road. “It appears the Toyota may have pulled out in the path of the truck, and the truck attempted to stop but was unsuccessful,” said Richmond Assistant Police Chief James Wilson.

Three people were killed and four others were injured in the horrific accident. Police officials were notified of the collision at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

Fatalities included the following:

• 56-year-old Wilma Cox of Irvine

• 48-year-old Gregory Hayes of McKee

• 9-year-old Eric Cox of McKee

Those injured in the wreck included the following:

• 32-year-old Deborah Griffith of McKee

Medical State: Serious condition (head and chest injuries)

• Roger Million Jr.

Medical State: Stable condition (specific injuries undisclosed)

• Elby Cox

Medical State: Serious condition (chest and abdomen injuries)

• 35-year-old Billie Masters

Medical State: Critical condition (specific injuries undisclosed)

Those injured in the two-vehicle wreck were transported to University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment.

Reports also noted Rodger Million Jr. was the brother of a woman tragically killed in a Richmond house fire on Sunday. The woman was identified as 21-year-old LaSha Noe.

Investigations into the unfortunate truck-car accident are expected to be underway.
