Sherman County, OR—The Oregon State Patrol (OSP) is investigating a multiple fatality wreck that happened near Grass Valley. The two-vehicle collision that killed three people occurred around 12: 39 a.m., on May 18, 2010, as reported by OregonLive.com.

The OSP reported that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was traveling northbound on Oregon 97, when for an unknown reason the truck crossed over the center line, directly into the path of an oncoming commercial truck. The driver of the commercial truck tried to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid the imminent collision, but the two vehicles hit head-on.

The wreck killed all three men inside the pickup truck. The driver was identified as Jose Luis Sandoval Guerrero, 32, and passengers Audelino Sandoval Barajas, 43, and Pablo Alcala Marmolejo, 52, all of Mattawa, Washington.

Benjamin V. Quiroz, 58, from Anaheim, the driver of the commercial truck, and passenger, Jose Luis Ortiz Moreno, 56, of Salinas were injured in the crash. They were transported to Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles for treatment of minor injuries.

Police officials are investigating the fatal accident. It is unknown why the truck crossed over the centerline.
