News for Florida motorcycle accident lawyers- A double fatality motorcycle crash, which involved an SUV, occurred in Ruskin, Florida.

Ruskin, FL—A deadly motor vehicle collision (MVC), involving a motorcycle and sport utility vehicle, resulted in two casualties on Monday evening, April 26, 2010. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred on College Avenue in Ruskin, Florida, as reported by TBO.com.

Authorities from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office stated 22-year-old Daniel James Walters was operating an eastbound Suzuki motorcycle on College Ave. when the tragic wreck occurred. Simultaneously, a westbound Jeep Cherokee SUV, driven by 23-year-old Gabrielle Durad, was reportedly stopped at the corner of College Ave., waiting to make a left turn onto 8th Street. However, when Durad proceeded to do so, she unfortunately turned into path of the eastbound motorcycle, causing the bike to smash into the front of her SUV.

According to the sheriff’s office, both Walters and a passenger who was riding on the motorcycle at the time, 18-year-old Ryan Michael Modrow, were not wearing helmets at the time of impact and suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Reports suggest the motorcyclist and his passenger succumbed to their severe injuries at the scene of the collision. Durad managed to escape injury in the wreck.

While investigators did not seem to believe alcohol played a role in the fatal SUV and motorcycle crash, traffic homicide detectives are conducting a full probe into the accident.
