Product liability attorneys alert- Sport Obermeyer recalls ski jackets due to entrapment hazard.

Aspen, CO—In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) http://www.cpsc.gov, Sport Obermeyer, Ltd. has voluntarily recalled Posey, Lilly, Rose and Daisy girls’ ski jackets. The recalled was announced on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 by the CPSC.

Sport Obermeyer recalled nearly 3,900 units after discovering that the drawstring around the waist can pose an entrapment hazard among children. The CPSC reported, “the recalled girls’ jackets have drawstrings at the waist, sold in sizes 1 to 8 and the names and corresponding style numbers are: Lily #91549, Rose # 91552, Daisy #91555, Posey #91558. The style number is printed on the tag inside the neck of the jackets.” The garments were sold at various boutique and ski/sport trail outlets for between $90 and $140. The Vietnam-manufactured product was sold and distributed from July 2009 through February 2010.

Consumers are advised to remove the drawstring immediately to eliminate the entrapment risk. Also, consumers can return the jackets to Sport Obermeyer for a full refund. For more information, contact Sport Obermeyer Ltd. at (800) 778-5465 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (MT) Monday through Friday or visit their Web site at http://www.obermeyer.com
