Dallas, TX—A wrong-way driver in Mesquite killed herself and injured two others on Interstate 30 for unknown reasons. The fatal accident occurred around 1:50 a.m., on Monday, March 8, 2010 on I-30 near Big Town Boulevard, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.

Police officials reported that Mariana Aguilarde-Rodriguez, 45, of Dallas was driving her 2010 Ford F-150 westbound on I-30, when she apparently veered into the oncoming lanes of traffic and collided head-on into another pickup truck. The pickup truck that Aguilarde-Rodriguez struck head-on was carrying two men, identified as Matthew Dryman, 23, of Garland, who was the driver; and passenger, Brian Schweers, 23. They were both injured in the collision, and were transported by responding emergency teams to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries by medical professionals. Medical teams also rushed Aguilarde-Rodriguez to Baylor for treatment, but her injuries proved after arriving at the medical center. Mesquite police officials are currently trying to determine what caused Aguilarde-Rodriguez to crash into the truck. It is still too soon to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the deadly crash, or if any charges will be filed.
