Washington truck accident attorneys alert- A collision between a dump truck and a Honda Accord killed a Portland police officer in Vancouver, WA.

Vancouver, WA—A two-vehicle collision between a dump truck and a car left a Portland police officer dead on Sunday night, February 21, 2010. The fatal crash occurred in the 7300 block of Northeast 182nd Avenue around 6:30 p.m., as the police officer was on his way home from work, as reported by OregonLive.com.

According to preliminary accident reports, a dump truck apparently stalled while still partially in the northbound lane of traffic. In order to make the dump truck operational again, the truck driver had to restart the truck and turn off its lights. When the truck was restarted it began rolling backwards into the northbound lane, subsequently causing a northbound 1996 Honda Accord to slam into the back of the dump truck. The driver of the car, Adam Cushman, 35, a criminalist with the Portland police bureau, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams. It was not reported if the dump truck driver, Clyde Andrews, 53, of Vancouver was injured in the collision. Police officials are reportedly investigating the deadly wreck. There have been no citations issued in connection with the fatal two-vehicle crash.
