Illinois SUV accident attorneys alert- DeKalb County Sheriff is investigating a head-on crash between a Ford SUV and a Toyota.

Chicago, IL—A Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010, head-on wreck injured two people on Route 23. The violent collision occurred around 8:30 p.m., just south of Gurler Road on Route 23 in DeKalb County, as reported by the Daily Chronicle.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reported that a southbound driver of a Ford SUV apparently veered over the centerline of the roadway and slammed head-on into a northbound Toyota. The driver of the SUV, Ronald Ellis, 36, of Shabbona was injured in the collision and was rushed by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, and was later taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford for further treatment. Ellis is currently listed in good condition. The driver of the Toyota, Meng Chen, 20, Ottawa, was also injured and was taken by EMS crews to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center as well. Chen is reportedly in critical condition. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) is currently under investigation by police officials. It is unknown why the SUV crossed over into the northbound lanes of traffic, but officials believe the crash was weather-related. Charges may be filed.
