Florida personal injury attorney alerts- A baby was pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center after crash; five others injured.

West Palm Beach, FL—A chain-reaction crash resulted in the death of a 3-month-old baby and hurt five other people on Saturday, January 30, 2010. The fatal motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred on Forest Hill Boulevard, according to information provided by the Sun-Sentinel.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies allegedly reported that a 1999 Honda, driven by 27-year-old Yanitza Gonzalez, attempted to slow down the vehicle as it was approaching a red traffic light, but was subsequently rear-ended in doing so. A 2010 Honda, driven by 30-year-old Jason F. Brown, stuck the vehicle from behind while traveling in the westbound lanes. Gonzalez’s vehicle was sent careening into the far left lane, where it became involved in a second crash with a 1995 Mitsubishi, driven by 38-year-old Jose Ramos, who was reportedly stopped at a red light at the time.

Emergency medical services (EMS) crews responded to the scene to transport all of the injured to area hospitals to be treated by doctors and nurses. The 3-month-old baby girl who had been riding in the 1999 Honda at the time of the wreck, identified as Yanley Gonzales, was allegedly taken to Delray Medical Center where she was sadly pronounced dead. Yanitza Gonzalez and another passenger, 7-year-old Eduardo Gonzales, were transported to Delray Medical Center and were listed in “satisfactory” condition on Sunday. Brown was also treated at DMC. Ramos and a 2-year-old passenger, Maria Carmona, were transported to Wellington Regional Medical Center for treatment. Charges against Brown for reportedly leaving the scene of the accident are reportedly expected. Toxicology reports are pending and investigations are underway.
