Consumer Product Safety Commission alerts product liability attorneys- A recall was announced of the Precious Moments Inc. Angle Tree Topper.

Joplin, MO– The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) http://www.cpsc.gov/ and Precious Moments Inc., of Carthage, Missouri, have voluntarily recalled the Precious Moments Angel Tree Toppers due to a threat of overheating and igniting fire. The product was recalled on Thursday, December 17, 2009, as reported by the CPSC.

About 4,300 Precious Moments Angel Tree Toppers, which were manufactured in China, have an undersized wiring which could cause the tree-trooper’s switch assembly to overheat and melt, which can cause a fire. No injuries in connection with the recalled product have been reported. Two instances were reported of the tree topper overheating. The tree topper is a 10-inch tall vinyl angel with LED lighted wings. The angel is white, gold, and yellow, and holds either a star or set of balls. The Precious Angel tree topper was sold at Menards, Shopko and Blain’s Farm and Fleet nationwide form August 2009 through December 2009 for the amount of $18.
