A Kansas SUV rollover left eight passengers injured.

Kansas City, KS—Eight passengers were injured in a one-vehicle crash around 4:20 a.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, on Kansas Highway 10, as reported by the De Soto Explorer.

The westbound 1999 Honda MPV CR-V SUV involved in the crash allegedly rolled over after leaving the road, and crossing over the center median. The SUV reportedly landed on it’s top after ejecting at least two of the Honda’s passengers.

Jay N. Czervinske, 19, the driver, and Haley R. Schumann, a passenger in the car, were both transported by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City. Their condition is unknown. It is reported that the six other passengers were taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center to be treated for the injuries they acquired in the SUV rollover. Angela Wolfe, 21, and Nathan P. Hansan, 21, were treated by doctors and nurses and have since then been released. Another passenger, Sean Canton, 21, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. Mackenzie R. Davis was allegedly being treated in the emergency room around 9:30 a.m., while Jonathan M. Burge was admitted to the hospital for the treatment of the injuries he sustained in the wreck. The nursing supervisor at the hospital apparently had no record of the last passenger, Thadeusz S. Smith, 19, whose condition is unknown.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, none of the passengers were wearing their seatbelts.
