Semi-truck accident attorneys alerts- A 18-wheeler crashed into the side of a school bus in North Monterey County.

Salinas, CA—A semi-truck hit a North Monterey County Unified School District bus broadside on Monday morning, December 7, 2008, in a rain-soaked intersection. The 8:30 a.m. wreck injured one person, at the Castroville Boulevard and Highway 156 intersection, as reported by The Californian.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported, a school bus driven by, Bruce Howland, 53, was traveling from southbound on Castroville Blvd to eastbound Highway 156, when a tractor-trailer driven by Valery Uralow, 53, of Florida struck the bus on its left side. The school bus reportedly had a green traffic light at the time of the crash. The CHP stated for unknown reasons Uralow failed to notice the red light for his direction of travel. Three students were apparently on the bus when the collision occurred. No students reported any injuries, but one was taken to local hospital by their parents as a precaution. Howland complained of neck and back pain, and was transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment. Uralow was uninjured in the collision. Police officials are currently conducting a full investigation into the two-vehicle wreck. Charges have not been filed at this time in connection with the crash.
