Tampa, FL—A school bus driver was cited for a crash, which sent 10 children to the hospital. The school bus driver and the 10 injured students were rushed via ambulance on Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009, as reported by My Fox Tampa Bay.

A school bus transporting 39 students was traveling on 21st Avenue SE at the same time as a Terminix truck, driven by Douglas Hayes, 35, of Valrico, was traveling in the opposite direction. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported the truck had its signal light on to turn left, but instead he decided to continue driving straight. The school bus was also trying to make a left hand turn onto 6th Street SE, and pulled out in front of the oncoming pest control truck.

Ten students on board of the bus sustained injuries in the wreck and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the bus, Olga Guerrero, 39, of Ruskin also was also reported as injured. Guerrero was transported with the students to a local hospital for treatment; their injuries were described as non life-threatening. Hayes was uninjured in the wreck. The school bus was reportedly headed to Beth Shields Middle School when the collision occurred. Guerrero was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield right-of-way. The bus sustained major damage and it was taken to Hillsborough County Transportation Department to determine if repairs were an option.
