Georgia automobile accident lawyers alert- A bus rollover injured dozens of Morehouse College’s marching band members.

Atlanta, GA—A bus carrying 42 members of the Morehouse College’s “House of Funk” Marching Band skidded off of I-75 and overturned while on their way to a football game at Albany State. The bus crash injured over a dozen people on Saturday, October 31, 2009 on I-75 south near the I-675 merge, as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

One of the three buses transporting the “House of Funk” Marching Band veered off of I-75 and overturned twice before it came to a stop on its side. Another bus traveling in front of the wrecked vehicle turned around when they saw it go tumbling off the side of the roadway. The band members traveling inside that bus then began to pull the injured people from the wreckage.

Two seriously injured band members were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. EMS teams also took numerous other students to other area hospitals for treatment. Police officials believe the wet roadway contributed to the bus skidding 30 feet off the roadway. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the rollover. The football game continued as scheduled, and Morehouse College lost 30-12 to Albany State.
