South Dakota Highway Patrol alerts automobile accident lawyers-Two USD students were involved in a fatal collision on Highway 50.

Vermillion, SD—A wrong way head-on crash left one person dead and injured another on Highway 50. Police officials reported both people involved in the wreck were students at the University of South Dakota (USD). The fatal collision happened on Thursday, September 17, 2009 around 11:30 p.m., on Highway 50 and 466th Avenue, as reported by Keloland TV.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a female USD student was traveling on the wrong side of the road, when she crashed head-on into another female USD student on Highway 50. Police officials have not stated who was the one driving on the wrong side of the road. Liz Lias, 21 of Sioux Falls, who was a senior at USD, was killed as a result of the head-on crash. Lias was reportedly a International Studies major and a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. The other 21-year-old female driver was injured in the crash, and was transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) crews to a local hospital for treatment of her undisclosed injuries. Police officials have not said if drugs and alcohol were involved in the fatal two-car collision. South Dakota police officials are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal wreck.
