Chicago, IL—A teenager was tragically killed after a head-on collision, which involved a car and a truck in Woodbridge. The fatal accident happened on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, around 1:00 a.m., on Joliet Road near St. James Gate Drive, as reported by The Daily Herald.

The Woodbridge police reports indicated, James Kaylor, 19, of Romeoville was traveling north on Joliet Road when he apparently lost control of his car, cross the centerline, and slammed head-on into an oncoming truck. The oncoming truck reportedly desperately tried to brake, but was unable to avoid the crash. Kaylor was pronounced dead at the scene of the head-on collision by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews. The driver of the truck was not injured in the wreck. Police officials are trying to determine why Kaylor crossed over into oncoming traffic. Official’s state it dose not appear drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash. The crash shut down Joliet Road between Bluff Road and Davey Road until 5:00 a.m. The crash was cleared, and Joliet Road was completely reopened around 7:40 a.m. Police officials are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal two-vehicle wreck. No citations have been reportedly issued at this time in connection with the motor vehicle collision.
