According to police reports, traffic along northbound I-55 began to slow, which caused a tractor-trailer to slam into the back of a Volkswagen driven by a 40-year-old unidentified man, and a passenger, Elizabeth Warren, 36. The Volkswagen then struck the rear-end of a Pontiac Grand Prix, which then catapulted into a Chevrolet Cobalt. The Chevy car then hit a Cadillac with such force it flipped the Cadillac over, and slid towards the shoulder of the highway.
