A Grant County motorcycle accident involving a tractor and two employees of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville killed both workers on Bethel Road. Wisconsin authorities continue to investigate the fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the lives of a biker and his rider when they struck a John Deere tractor.

Platteville, WI–A weekend ride turned tragic for two University of Wisconsin-Platteville employees when the motorcycle they were riding struck a tractor in southwestern Wisconsin of Sunday, as reported by the Telegraph Herald. The Grant County Sheriff’s office confirmed the fatal motorcycle accident killed the driver, Michael Udelhofen, 59, and his female passenger, Laurel Skrede, 54, when they were ejected from the bike after they struck the tractor near Montfort.

According to Grant County officials, the John Deere tractor driver was traveling southbound on Bethel Road and attempting to turn left on Old Highway 18 when Udelhofen, who was riding northbound, struck the right side of the farm equipment. Both the biker and his passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the fatal bike wreck. The biker and his passenger were pronounced dead at the accident scene after the impact of the crash ejected them from their motorcycle.
