Illinois construction accident lawyers alert- Boy killed at construction site when a front end loader fell on him.

Chicago, IL—A young boy was tragically killed in a freak construction accident on Tuesday morning, August 11, 2009. The 9-year-old boy was crushed under a front-end loader of a Bobcat at a construction site at 9:50 a.m. on the South Side of Chicago, as reported by CBS Chicago.

The boy, Valente Torres, 9, was with his father, Raul Torres, who was converting a three bedroom flat into a condominium on the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue. Valente was reportedly riding with his father on a Bobcat, when the tractor hit a pile of dirt or a curb, which caused the boy to be thrown from the cab of the front-end loader. The Bobcat then fell over onto the boy, crushing him underneath. The distraught father desperately called for help as he held his son, who was covered in blood. The critically injured boy was rushed to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital by area emergency medical services (EMS) crews for treatment. Doctors and nursing treating the severely injured boy pronounced him dead after arriving at the hospital.

Raul Torres apparently is the owner of the construction company, Torres Construction, who was conducting work on the flat. Witnesses stated Raul has been working there for weeks and has seen Valente at the site numerous times. In addition, Valente’s brother was also present at the construction site, but was not involved in the accident.
