Long Island multiple vehicle car crash kills Westhampton SUV driver

Suffolk County Route 24 SUV rollover kills driver and injures 2 passengers.

New York, NY(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The driver of a 1997 Ford SUV died in a rollover accident on Route 24, north of Red Creek Road, in Flanders, on Monday afternoon, as reported by Newsday. The Southampton Town Police say the fatal SUV rollover involved two other vehicles. Apparently a driver stopped in the thru traffic lane, to offer assistance to another disabled motor vehicle, on the side of Route 24, when the SUV rollover occurred.

The 25 year-old SUV driver from Westhampton, Hugo Lopez-Abbac, was traveling in the northbound lane, of New York State Route 24, when he swerved to avoid the stopped driver. The SUV rolled, ejected one passenger, and killed the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Suffolk County mergency medical personnel transported both passengers to an area hospital for treatment of their serious injuries. Long Island highway accident detectives continue to investigate the fatal SUV rollover.
