CDC and Texas state health officials confirm first swine flu death in Houston.

Houston, TX(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–As reported by the Houston Chronicle Wednesday morning, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) www.cdc.gov and health officials with the Texas Department of State Health have confirmed a toddler died from the swine flu in a Houston hospital. The 22 month old boy traveled to Brownsville, Texas from Mexico City on April 4, 2009, to visit relatives. He was admitted to a Brownsville hospital, on April 8, complaining of a fever and other flu like symptoms.

The fatally ill toddler was transferred to a Houston area hospital for aggressive treatment of his illness by top pediatricians but died on Monday night. Leading doctors, with the CDC, confirmed his death early Wednesday morning saying the boy was infected with type-A influenza virus (H1N1), also known as the swine flu. This is the first confirmed death from the aggressive virus on U.S. Soil. Texas has six confirmed cases of the reported 64 in the United States.
