Cuba – The Cuban government has granted approval for public bathroom rentals. As reported by the Miami Herald, the government legalized the business Thursday setting fixed prices for various facility categories.

The rent-a-toilet program, which began as a pilot program in 2011 was expanded to the whole island with the government decision. The program allows state owned bathrooms to be rented to private individuals who possess “public bathroom attendants” licenses.

According to the report, use of a toilet, urinal, or wash basin is going to be set at one Cuban peso, which equals about four cents in U.S. currency. Extra services such as “perfumes, talcum powders, cosmetics, soap, showers, among others are set by supply and demand.”
