As reported by Christian Science Monitor, the men were accused of seizing and detaining citizens in an illegal “black jail” and sentenced to between 6 months and two years imprisonment.

Prominent human rights lawyer Li Fangping is further quoted as stating of the problem in the country with illegal detentions, “So long as stability maintenance remains unchanged, illegal detentions cannot be eradicated, only reduced to a certain degree… Petitioners are still being illegally detained … and no official has ever been punished for it.”
