Louisiana – Despite a recent Supreme Court ruling, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has refused to implement Obamacare in his state. As reported by The Ticket, Jindal expressed his plans Friday to ignore the federal mandate for a health insurance exchange program in hopes that the health coverage plan would be repealed in a Republican led effort.

Jindal is quoted in the report as stating in reference to the health care measure, “We’re not going to start implementing Obamacare…We’re committed to working to elect Gov. Romney to repeal Obamacare.”

Under the new plan, the Affordable Care Act, states are required to set up exchanges by the beginning of 2014, with funds being provided by the federal government for implementation.

Jindal is further quoted as asserting, “Here in Louisiana we have not applied for the grants, we have not accepted many of these dollars, we’re not implementing the exchanges…We don’t think it makes any sense to implement Obamacare in Louisiana. We’re going to do what we can to fight it.”
