New York – A woman accused of stalking actor Alec Baldwin, spoke briefly about her expectations for the outcome of the case during a court appearance on Monday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), an attorney for Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin indicated that the actress’ purpose for contacting the “30 Rock” star prior to her arrest last month was legitimate.

Sabourin was reportedly arrested in April for sending several emails to Baldwin containing pleas to contact and marry her. She is also reported to have shown up at the star’s apartment building and a screening hosted by him uninvited.

Sabourin’s attorney, Maurice Sercarz, is quoted by the AP as stating after Monday’s hearing, “There was no effort at harassment, and there was no stalking here…My client had a legitimate purpose for her efforts to contact Mr. Baldwin.”

Baldwin recently became engaged to Hilaria Thomas, a yoga instructor.
