Bronx auto accident attorney: Wrong-Way Crash Kills 1, Injures 4

A 25-year-old woman drove the wrong way on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx, Thursday, December 22, 2011, and slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer, according to information received by Bronx auto accident attorney Jonathan C. Reiter. The accident killed the driver, Margaret Donnelly.
At approximately 3 am, Thursday morning, Donnelly turned her 2011 Hyundai Sonata north onto the southbound lanes on the Bruckner Expressway and continued to drive past oncoming traffic. Upon traveling past several oncoming vehicles, that reportedly swerved out of the way, she slammed into a tractor-trailer head on, explains New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter.
The truck driver, who did not wish to be identified, said Donnelly appeared to be unaware of the fact she was traveling down the northbound lane, and made no attempt to stop before hitting the truck. As he explained to the Daily News, “She was coming the wrong way, she hit me right in the front of the truck…It happened very fast. There was no time to do nothing.”
Bronx auto accident attorney Jonathan C. Reiter repeats reports that the woman drove at least a half-mile before colliding with the truck, having struck a Mercedes-Benz as well.
The collision between Donnelly’s vehicle and the tractor-trailer caused the truck to crash into a retaining wall, skid across three lanes, hit a guardrail and jack-knife.
