Industrial Accident at Quarryville Business Leaves Worker with Severe Leg Injury

Quarryville, PA — An industrial accident at a Quarryville business Tuesday, January 17, 2012, left a steel worker with a severe, crushing leg injury. The workplace accident occurred at Steel Systems Installation, located at 175 N. Lime St., just after 6 a.m., reported LancasterOnline.com.
According to reports, a subcontractor was working in a welding shop while he was moving something around. In doing so, the worker apparently made some sort of mistake and a piece of steel hit his leg.
The man did not become pinned by the steel.
Co-workers rushed to the victim’s aid and alerted 911.
Responding emergency crews rushed the man to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of his leg injury, which was not considered life-threatening.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.
Investigations into the industrial accident at Steel Systems Installation are ongoing.
