2 Injured in “Tough Truck” Accident at Iowa Fairgrounds

Moville, IA — A “tough truck” competition at the Woodbury County Fairgrounds in Moville, left two men injured when a truck landed on its nose and overturned. The accident occurred Thursday night, August 4, 2011, reported KCAUTV.
According to Woodbury County officials, the two men were in their vehicle when it went off a jump, landed on its nose, and overturned. The vehicle, which was resting on its roof, trapped the two men inside.
The two victims were identified as Matthew Andresen, 28 of Hornick, IA and his brother Michael Andresen, 24 of Ute, IA.
Responding rescue crews worked for about 20 minutes to free the two men with the Jaws of Life. They were then rushed to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City for medical treatment. One of the victims was transported by helicopter, while the other was taken by ambulance. Their injuries were considered serious.
