Kissimmee, FL — An Osceola County school bus driver was cited for careless driving after being involved in a three-vehicle accident on Thursday, June 9, 2011. The bus accident occurred on Boggy Creek Road near Bill Beck Boulevard, reported WFTV.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the school bus and two other vehicles were traveling westbound on Boggy Creek Road, when the school bus rear-ended an Acura, which was waiting to make a left turn. The impact of the crash pushed the Acura into a van, driven by 40-year-old Iris Mercedes, that was also stopped in front of the Acura.

The bus driver, 30-year-old Yanaira Pagan, claims she was unable to stop in time, causing her to hit the rear of the Acura, which was driven by 52-year-old Sandra Beatty.

Responding emergency crews had to cut Beatty out of the Acura, before she was rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

There were two female students on board of the school bus at the time, but they were not injured in the bus accident.

Pagan and Mercedes were reported to be OK.

Police officials cited Pagan with careless driving in connection with the bus accident.
