Head-on Collision near Parkers Prairie Killed 1; Another Seriously Injured

Minneapolis, MN—A head-on crash killed one motorist in central Minnesota on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. The fatal collision occurred on the rain-soaked Highway 29 around 8:30 a.m., near Parkers Prairie, as reported by the Star Tribune.
The Minnesota State Patrol stated they are unsure what caused the teenage driver to cross over into oncoming traffic and slam into an oncoming motorist.
The motorist who was struck by the teen was identified as Lucille M. Vogt, 77, of Parkers Prairie. Vogt was tragically killed the in the wreck.
The teenage driver was identified as Kayla K. Carry, of Browerville, Minn. Carry was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her condition has since been upgraded from critical to fair.
The two motorists were reportedly wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
A full investigation is underway.
