Los Angeles, CA—Former “Seinfeld” star Michael Richards has been accused of assaulting a photographer on August 25, 2010. The Los Angeles photographer subsequently filed a lawsuit for unspecified damages over the alleged injuries he incurred during the altercation, reported TMZ.

Photographer Brendon O’Neal claims that Richards, who is best known for his role as Cosmo Kramer in the television series “Seinfeld,” approached him in a “menacing manner…with closed fists” on the street. Richards then punched O’Neal in the face, knocking him to the ground, where O’Neal continued to “kick [O’Neal] numerous times, directing the blows to [O’Neal’s] arms, hands, and camera,” according to the lawsuit.

But the lawsuit doesn’t reveal what, if anything provoked Richards to attack the photographer.

O’Neal is seeking unspecified damages for medical expenses, including “great mental, physical, and nervous pain and suffering.”
