North Carolina Highway Patrol alerts- Five high school students were injured when a Toyota Echo and pickup truck crashed.

Lexington, NC—A collision between a Toyota Echo and a pickup truck injured five people on Monday, January 11, 2010. The 7:44 a.m. crash on Highway 8 near Feezor Road occured when the pickup truck made a turn in front of the Toyota, as reported by WGHP.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the driver of the pickup truck, Shilo Strass, 16, of Lexington was traveling north on Highway 8, when for unknown reasons he turned in front of a Toyota Echo, causing both vehicles to collide. Strass, and his passenger, Josh Green were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Toyota, Josh Williams, 16, and his two passengers, Aaron Williams, 15, and Troy Curry, 15, were also injured in the wreck. Williams was flown to Baptist Hospital for treatment, while the other two victims were taken to the hospital by their parents. All five of the injured victims are reportedly Central Davidson High School students. The current condition of the victims was not released. Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the two-vehicle crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
