Dallas, TX-Amy K. Witherite, leading Dallas, Texas automobile accident lawyer, reports multiple people were injured in a five-vehicle wreck on Central Expressway, just north of 15th Street in Plano. A total of eight people were treated for injuries after an 18-wheeler lost control around 3:00 p.m., on Monday, December 14, 2009, as reported by WFAA TV.

According to Plano police officials, an 18-wheeler veered into the southbound HOV lanes for unknown reasons, when it slammed into a TxDOT truck located in a construction zone. The out-of-control semi-truck then hit another pickup truck, which was launched into the air over a box truck, and onto a Mazda. The TxDOT truck that was struck by the 18-wheeler was thrown into a concrete median. The impact of the collision pushed the median into the northbound lanes of traffic. A total of eight motorists were injured in the violent wreck; three were taken by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to an area hospital for treatment, while five others were treated at the scene by EMS professionals and released. Officials have not released the conditions of the injured victims, or details of their injuries at this time. The identities of the motorists are currently being withheld as well. Police investigators are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the major collision. No charges have been filed. It is unknown if the victims have sought legal representation.
