Naples, FL–A Robinson Raven 44 private helicopter based out of Naples crashed south of Babcock Ranch near Glades, Lee, and Charlotte County lines at about 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, October 15, 2009, as reported by nbc news affiliate channel 2. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the helicopter crash and discovered three passengers and one pilot were traveling on the chopper when it went down off of Bermont Road.

The pilot was airlifted by emergency medical crews to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The three passengers reportedly refused medical treatment for their minor injuries and none of the names of the victims involved in the helicopter crash were released. News reports indicated mechanical problems with the chopper may have caused the aviation accident. The helicopter is currently registered with J A J Investments, a company headquartered in Naples. Aviation accident investigators remain looking into the helicopter crash to determine what caused the chopper to go down.
