North Carolina accident attorney alert-A crash involving a Ford Explorer killed a teenager when the SUV hits a tree.
Asheville, NC—A northern Henderson County wreck left two teenagers seriously injured and killed another. The fatal wreck happed on Butler Bridge Road near Mills River and just south of Asheville Regional Airport at 9:30 p.m., as reported by the Citizen Times.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1997 Ford Explorer was speeding east on Butler Bridge Road when the SUV approached a curve. The driver over corrected the SUV when he tried to negotiate the curve, which caused him to run off the side of the road and slam into a tree. Police officials believe the teens were traveling at 60 mph, when the speed limit on that part of the road is 35 mph. The driver of the SUV, Jarret Carland, 27 of Mills River, and a passenger, Jeremiah Jarvis, 17, of Hendersonville sustain serious injuries in the single vehicle wreck. Another passenger, identified as Jordan Hodges, 14, of Mills River was killed as a result of the crash. Jarvis and Carland were transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) crews to Mission Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Medical professionals treating the injured victims said, Carland is currently listed in critical condition and Jarvis’ condition is unknown. Accident investigators are conducting a full accident investigation into the single car crash.
