Cincinnati – A woman accused of overdosing on heroin along with her boyfriend while with her kids at a McDonald’s play area has pleaded guilty to child endangerment. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Tamica Jeffers, 33, denied using the drug and claimed to have had a seizure during the incident.

Jeffers’ children were subsequently placed in state custody in Indiana. Testimony regarding her purported medical condition was not provided by prosecutors or the defense prior to her being sentenced.

A second misdemeanor child endangerment charge was dropped after Jeffers agreed to a plea deal. Judge Fanon Rucker sentenced her to six months jail time, but it was suspended and she received credit for days she spent in jail after being arrested. She may reportedly be released from jail in less than two months.
