Orlando, Florida – Tests have reportedly identified only George Zimmerman’s DNA on the handgun used in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the forensic tests were made public last week revealing that Martin’s DNA was not found on the gun.

Zimmerman, who has been charged with second-degree murder in Martin’s death, is claiming he shot the teen in self-defense after the two had a confrontation. The incident sparked nationwide protests due to Zimmerman not immediately being arrested following the shooting.

Prosecutors released other documents last Wednesday in addition to the test results including emails sent to then-Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee.
